Program Description

Non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis (NCFB) is a chronic, progressive respiratory disease associated with ongoing symptoms, recurrent exacerbations, and substantial burden for patients and healthcare systems.^1,2

In this Learning Theater, hear from a live panel of experienced clinicians discuss the evolving management of NCFB. Through real-world perspectives and practical clinical insights, faculty speakers Joseph Khabbaza (MD, Pulmonologist,), Rajat Walia (MD, FCCP, Pulmonologist, Norton Thoracic Institute), and Victoria Forth (PA-C, Physician Assistant, Brigham and Women’s Hospital) will explore strategies for navigating and assessing disease burden across the patient journey, including monitoring exacerbations, developing individualized multimodal management plans, and coordinating care for patients with complex disease.

In addition to hearing from our faculty, we’ll also hear from a patient through a series of video segments sharing her personal experience living with and managing bronchiectasis. Her perspective will help ground our discussion in the realities patients face throughout their diagnosis and treatment journey. The discussion will examine current concepts in NCFB pathophysiology and highlight how a growing understanding of disease mechanisms is shaping clinical practice. Faculty will share experiences from their own practices, including approaches to longitudinal management and the factors that inform treatment decisions within a comprehensive care strategy.

Attendees will gain practical insights that can help support earlier recognition of bronchiectasis, improve assessment of disease burden, and inform comprehensive care strategies for patients living with NCFB. This interactive session is designed to encourage peer-to-peer exchange and discussion around contemporary challenges and opportunities in bronchiectasis management.
