Program Description

Join us for an engaging session exploring the evolving management of severe asthma, including the clinical evidence supporting a twice-yearly biologic, the impact of type 2 inflammation on disease progression, and persistent challenges in biologic use. We will review the chronic inflammatory nature of severe asthma driven by type 2 inflammation, including the relationship between persistent inflammation, exacerbations, and disease progression. The speakers will discuss challenges in severe asthma management, including delayed biologic initiation and considerations related to treatment adherence and persistence. The session will review clinical trial data for an ultra-long-acting biologic and its role in severe asthma management. Finally, we will discuss the role of shared decision-making in helping align treatment with patient goals and preferences to support more patient-centered severe asthma care.
