Behind the science: Considerations for severe asthma management

At CHEST 2026, join GSK Medical Affairs for an educational symposium examining the evolving evidence surrounding severe asthma management and considerations that may influence treatment decision-making.

Behind the Science: Ultra-Long-Acting Approach to Severe Asthma and Treatment Decision Making

Monday, October 19, 2026 | 2:30 p.m.-3:15 p.m. MT

Learning Theater 2

Speakers: Reynold A. Panettieri, Jr. MD and Corinne Young, MSN, FNP, FCCP

Join us for an engaging session exploring the evolving management of severe asthma, including the clinical evidence supporting a twice-yearly biologic, the impact of type 2 inflammation on disease progression, and persistent challenges in biologic use. We will review the chronic inflammatory nature of severe asthma driven by type 2 inflammation, including the relationship between persistent inflammation, exacerbations, and disease progression. The speakers will discuss challenges in severe asthma management, including delayed biologic initiation and considerations related to treatment adherence and persistence. The session will review clinical trial data for an ultra-long-acting biologic and its role in severe asthma management. Finally, we will discuss the role of shared decision-making in helping align treatment with patient goals and preferences to support more patient-centered severe asthma care.

Visit the GSK Medical Affairs booth, Booth #807, to continue the conversation and explore additional educational resources.
