In Conversation: Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Chronic Airway Diseases

October 19 from 12:00 pm 1:15 pm CDT

McCormick Place Convention Center, Room S406A
Sponsored by National Jewish Health. Supported by an educational grant from AstraZeneca

Program Description

Recent studies have highlighted that the prevalence of asthma in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is estimated at 60% to 70%, and severe asthma associated with nasal polyps represents more than 70% of cases. Traditionally, these upper and lower airway diseases have been managed independently, leading to suboptimal treatment for patients with multiple airway diseases.

This CME lunch symposium, presented by National Jewish Health, will bring together expert pulmonologists and allergists for a panel discussion on perspectives of the treatment paradigm and strategies for managing the intricacies of chronic inflammatory airway diseases. Attendees will gain an appreciation for the role that immune cells, epithelial cytokines, and other molecular mediators play in exacerbating chronic airway diseases, supporting personalized treatment selection and improved patient outcomes for patients suffering from upper and lower airway diseases.
