Honolulu-based CHEST members offer their personal recommendations to help you support local businesses during your visit.

A Sunday morning session will explore the importance of compassionate critical care environments where team members can grieve and process distressing experiences in a healthy manner, said Session Chair, Carlos L. Alviar, MD.

Clinician-educators looking to hone their skills can attend a forum presented in partnership with the Association of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Program Directors, said CHEST Educator Development Subcommittee Chair, Mark Lavercombe, MD, FCCP.

The CHEST 2023 Honor and Memorial Lectures will recognize 11 individuals who are advancing chest medicine and following in the footsteps of some of the biggest names in the field.

CHEST’s seven special member communities will host dedicated business meetings and meet-and-greet events at CHEST 2023. “It is a tremendous opportunity for collaboration,” said Cassie Kennedy, MD, FCCP, Chair of the Council of Networks.

Local advocates suggest learning about Hawaiʻi’s history and considering the ongoing need for justice for Native Hawaiians as you decide which businesses to visit and how you share your travel experiences with others.

This year’s annual meeting has a stacked educational program, but don’t forget that there are plenty of opportunities to socialize, mix with CHEST leaders, and have some fun while you learn.

More than two dozen simulation sessions at CHEST 2023 will offer hands-on experience in high-stakes procedures in a low-stress environment.

The second annual CHEST After Hours special session will embrace the personal aspects of medicine and celebrate its connections with art, music, experience, and empathy for others.
